Specialist TeleMed appoints Heather Barrett as Chief Executive Officer and Cari Hollis as Chief Operating Officer.

2/5/2025 – Specialist TeleMed (STeM) announced today that Heather Barrett has been appointed as the new CEO, having previously served as STeM’s long-time COO. In another executive leadership move, Cari Hollis will assume the role of COO, having previously served as STeM’s Chief Quality Officer. Both leaders bring a wealth of expertise, a deep commitment to STeM’s mission, and a proven track record of operational excellence.

Alexander Mason, MD, STeM’s founder and former CEO, has made the decision to step down from his role as Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Mason will remain an integral part of the organization, continuing to serve on the STeM Board of Directors and leading as the Executive Director of Medical Education. In this role, Dr. Mason will continue to drive initiatives focused on telehealth education and the advancement of healthcare access through technology.

Dr. Mason, a renowned neurosurgeon with decades of experience, has been a pivotal force in shaping STeM’s vision of delivering high-quality healthcare solutions through telehealth. His ongoing dedication to improving patient outcomes and expanding access to care will remain central to STeM’s mission.
